Worthing to Newquay 2020

Summer 2020 I headed west to Newquay once again to meet my family for our summer holiday. This year I had Chris along with me and I’d allowed a week and planned a longer, more complicated route than previous years, with the hope of seeing a decent slice of south west England.

Day 1 took us from Worthing along the South Downs Way to Petersfield where we joined the new Cycling UK King Alfred’s Way and headed north, eventually stopping in Thursley for the night. Riding through many bits of military land it was a total throwback to my early years of MTB’ing in the mid nineties, so many of the XC races that we did back in the day were in that area and it was great to reminisce while pedalling along.
