South of Chichester there is a great network of gravel paths, you can join them up to make a fun loop. There are a selection of cafes and pubs en route too. This can either be a fun, quick blast, like my ride was, or you can take your time, visit some cafes and have a nice day out.
The first part of the route uses the Salterns Way, this will carry you all the way to West Wittering. This also takes you through Chichester Marina and over the lock gates.
When you get to West Wittering make sure you stop off at The Landing, an excellent coffee shop, for coffee and pastries!
Then you go through to the start of the Medmerry Way, this is a permissive bridleway that will take you through to National Cycle Network route 88.
Once you have got through several sections of the Medmerry Way you join the National Cycle Network route 88. The start of this has really fantastic views as you ride alongside Pagham Harbour.
Now you’re on NCN88 and heading north back towards Chichester.
The very last section is up the canal tow path back to Chichester.
